Due to our growth and expansion, we are seeking a Compliance Product Manager to head a dedicated Product Team focused on ensuring our platform adheres to global and local regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will oversee compliance-related features and functionalities development and implementation. This role is pivotal in maintaining our commitment to security, privacy, and compliance amidst our rapid growth and global expansion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Spearhead the development of features ensuring global regulatory compliance, including standards such as PCI DSS and ISO 27001, ensuring the platform meets all globally required compliance benchmarks
  • Oversee the implementation of critical privacy and security functionalities, such as data encryption and secure data handling practices, to protect user information and meet stringent regulatory requirements
  • Continuously scan for changes in local regulations across the markets we operate in, and adapt the platform to meet these specific legal requirements (e.g., GDPR in the EU, CCPA in California, or new digital compliance laws in Germany).
  • Lead a small but highly effective product team, fostering collaboration, driving product milestones, and ensuring alignment with the broader product strategy
  • Advocate for best practices in compliance across all product groups (platform and modules), ensuring that compliance considerations are an integral part of the product development process
  • Maintain regular communication with stakeholders across the organisation, including legal, engineering, and local business units, to ensure there is a clear understanding of compliance needs and implementations
  • Identify potential regulatory risks associated with new features or markets, and develop mitigation strategies to address these risks proactively
  • Establish key performance indicators related to compliance and monitor these metrics to guide future compliance efforts and enhancements
  • Regularly review the platform for compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, ensuring ongoing adherence and addressing any discrepancies
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research regarding compliance related global and local pain points of business units, clients and their employees
  • Oversee the scoping, delivery, and refinement of compliance related functions, ensuring they are robust, user-friendly, easily adaptable and align with business needs. Maintain high standards for documentation and governance
  • Lead backlog prioritisation and scrum ceremonies and manage product & engineering support requests
  • Measure and analyse product performance, using data-driven insights to inform product iterations and improvements
  • Communicate product progress, challenges, and successes to global stakeholders and team members, managing expectations and ensuring alignment with overall company objectives
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous innovation, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing within the product team

Skills

  • At least 3 years experience as a Product Manager within the B2B and B2B2C context
  • Proven experience in regulatory compliance, particularly with standards relevant to payment and financial products (e.g. PCI DSS, GDPR)
  • Familiar with the design and enforcement of compliance frameworks
  • Has a keen understanding of the characteristics of a compliant platform and knows how it should be perceived and experienced by business units, clients, and end-users
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, adept at presenting complex technical, legal, and financial concepts in a clear and engaging manner to a diverse audience, including non-technical stakeholders
  • Has strong analytical skills and experience with product analytics tools 
  • Can lead a scrum team, set goals, and run continuous discovery and delivery
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence team members and stakeholders
  • Has a strong understanding of user research, market analysis, and business fundamentals
