In 2020, we wanted to delight our employees as much as they'd delighted our customers. That's why we celebrated Employee Appreciation Day with our first-ever RG Thank You Festival.

At Reward Gateway, we believe in recognising our people for the work they do making the world a better place to work. The global pandemic brought with it several challenges and our CEO, Doug Butler, was incredibly proud of how our employees adopted to change and supported one another and our customers throughout. This is why he wanted to do something extra special for our people. A unique, memorable and shared experience that would 'Push the Boundaries' on anything we'd ever done before. While boosting positive well-being, the connection between employees and showing them just how much we appreciate them.

So, on March 5th we cancelled all internal meetings and every Reward Gateway across the globe joined our live-stream Thank You Festival, a programme of live music, wellbeing and moments of magical recognition for employees. The filming took place at Oasis Farm in Waterloo, a lovely community-based venue and we worked with Alex Podger and the team at Smiley Sound to make this event one to remember.

We had a selection of live bands, some featuring our very own RG Rockstars, and a sensational headline act from Miss Baby Sol sharing positivity, fun and pure enjoyment. While the music played our Slack channel was poppin' with our people sharing their love and selfies of their at-home desk disco setups.

We shared surprise Cameo appearances from David Hasselhoff, The Muppets and more. Our Leadership team shared recognitions moments that showed how every team is connected. When one team wins, we all win! This event came as a great reminder that at Reward Gateway, we're all part of something bigger than our immediate team and tasks at hand. Our People Team reminded everyone of the well-being benefits available to all employees at RG.

What a Thank You Festival it was! Normally at Reward Gateway, we send around 1000 eCards per month to each other but on this special occasion, we sent 1676 moments of recognition to one another in one day!

Incredible, Bravo, Well done!! Truly a magical event. I truly felt like I was at my own personal concert and couldn't help but move in my seat - Klara Owens, Rochester

Based on the feedback from our employees we're already excited to be hosting our next Thank You Festival in February next year... with no lockdown, who knows what experience we'll have. It's moments like this that remind us of why We Love Our Job and the global community we're part of.

If you're keen to join it and be part of our mission to make the world a better place to work visit rg.co/careers.
