Reward Gateway’s Annual Hackathon has returned this month for its seventh edition with a new goal to support our hypergrowth.

What's a Hackathon?

In case you don't know what a Hackathon is, it's quite simply a chance for developers to express their inner creativity and try something new. This might be using a new programming language to build something, creating a tool for day-to-day work, or even the start of a new product line.

We start off by inviting all employees to share ideas on what we can work on, then our Product & Engineering team finishes with a two-day event of bringing those ideas to life. Each year we have a theme and this year we are looking for quick fixes for a big win.

Working Smarter not Harder

The goal is for all employees to think of a small change in our system that will have a big impact on the business and our day-to-day work.  We want to address pain points that people in the business have to tackle while performing their daily chores/tasks. Think working SMARTER not HARDER.

Submission Process

We hold a two-week Idea Sourcing period for our Hackathon. We invite ALL RG employees to submit their ideas of what small changes we can make that will have a big impact on our business and work.

We’ve created an Idea Sourcing document for all submissions. Employees simply enter their name, idea title, description, and the impact it will have. This is their chance to help us work SMARTER not HARDER to make the world a better place to work.

Additional Details:

  • Submissions are open to all employees and the deadline for submission is one month prior to the event.
  • There will be a review panel to help shape any submissions and the team will reach out to employees if their submission needs to change.
  • Judges for the event come from a wide mix of internal teams ranging from Client Success to Implementation, Product, and Client Support.

Prizes

Along with pride and joy, our Hackathon winners will receive a monetary award for their ideas and execution. Awards will be given to the winning Hackathon teams AND the person who submitted the idea.

Our Hackathon Event is just another way we work together to Think Global and Make the World a Better Place to Work.
