As the leader of the UK Sales team, Lou lives by the mantra that 'Leadership is making everyone else's job easier'. In May 2014, he joined Reward Gateway as an Engagement Specialist, where his focus was on ensuring our Sales team understand our customers' needs and he lead research into UK enterprise employee engagement.

Since then, he's progressed his career through every part of the Sales team which has given him a deep understanding of what makes our team tick. He's also the founding member of the Black Tech Sales Network and his previous career experience includes being a professional track athlete.

With a focus on company growth, Lou is often looking to speak with talented, ambitious Sales professionals keen to take on a new challenge in the HR Tech Saas space. So, we caught up with Lou to ask him a few questions about his life at Reward Gateway, to allow you to learn a little bit more about who he is and how he leads his team.

Lou, you've been with RG for eight years now. Can you tell us why you Love Your Job?

B2B - Salary Sacrifice-1500

Being able to utilise your skills on a day to day basis and see tangible results for your hard work. Doing this with people you love working with makes having a career at RG a truly defining experience

I'm also a big fan of our benefits, but especially our employee discounts. My son really likes our Smart Tech benefit which allows me to get the latest Tech at the lowest price through my salary.

What originally made you want to join?

How could you not want to work for an organisation where the mission is to “make the world a better place to work”. Being able to do that for other organisations and our own people is an opportunity I couldn’t turn down.

What advice would you give anyone interested in applying?

Have a look at our Glassdoor and reach out to some of our ex-employees and ask what their experience was like. Nothing better than hearing directly from those who are on or have been on our mission to really know what to expect.

Does our Sales team allow time for personal development?

Yes. I'm currently doing my CIMA certification. I've also completed my Mini MBA and lots of CPS accredited Sales courses. There's a huge range of Learning support available if you're keen to develop both your professional and even personal skills.

What are you most looking forward to in the next 12 months?

Just seeing how the next phase of growth materialises for us for the 8th year in a row. The world is in desperate need of companies to look after employees and we’re in a pole position to help.

What’s the team culture like?

Open, honest and a true representation of values + engagement bridge.

And, how would you describe the leadership style?

It varies like all things in life. That variety is what brings strength to RG.

Lastly, would you describe our approach to flexible, hybrid working?

Whether it's work, home, a cafe or elsewhere. I always say "Work wherever you do your best work".
