Your role in our Mission:
This is a fantastic opportunity to make your mark in this first-of-its-kind role within our Retail team. Reporting to the Group Retail Director, you’ll play a pivotal role in embedding our Braze platform at Reward Gateway, transforming how we engage our users and help our merchant partners grow.

We’re at the beginning of our journey with Braze, so we’re looking for someone who’s ready to make their mark - a B2C and Braze marketing champion who can show us what’s possible and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and get close to delivery to set strong foundations. Along with our Retail team, you’ll contribute to revenue driven from customer and client usage of our platform, which currently sits at over $500m in employee spend per year through our world-class employee discounts and reward programs.
This is a chance to shape the strategy and foundations of retail engagement, partnering with Retail Partnership Managers to design campaigns that solve real client and merchant challenges, and turning those into success stories for the market. Over time (we envisage within 18-24 months), you’ll build out a small team around you, step into broader strategy, and grow into the full Head of Retail Marketing remit.
Flexible, Hybrid Working
Our office is for you to use as much as you like; as a minimum our APAC Sales Team works from our Sydney office or Melbourne office at least twice a week.
Key Responsibilities
End-User Strategy & Growth
- Build the foundations of our end-user retail marketing strategy, demonstrating the commercial ROI of Braze-powered engagement through clear success metrics and compelling commercial storytelling for our Merchant Partners.
- Provide strategic direction to ensure campaigns and journeys are aligned to commercial goals and executed effectively by the Marketing Automation Specialist.
Retail Partner and Client Collaboration
- Partner with our Retail Team to design and launch compelling promotions and offers that drive measurable outcomes for our merchant partners.
- Co-create client-focused and partner-aligned campaign concepts with the Retail Team and Marketing Automation Specialist, ensuring relevance and commercial resonance in the local market.
- Contribute your expertise in client/partner meetings, helping bring ideas to life with actionable campaigns and sharing your expertise in Braze to develop strategies and campaigns that will help drive value for our merchants and users.
Localised Content & Personalisation:
- Develop locally relevant and personalised content tailored to different audience segments.
- Ensure all communications are consistent with brand guidelines and client expectations.
Optimisation & Analytics:
- Monitor campaign performance and provide insights and recommendations to maximise ROI.
- Drive a test-and-learn culture, embedding experimentation as part of BAU.
Team & Future Leadership
- Operate as a player-coach in the first 18–24 months while shaping the vision for how customer retail marketing grows.
- Lay the groundwork to hire, coach, and develop a small team in the future as the function scales.
- Collaborate with the Australian Retail team and with Global Retail, Marketing, and Product teams to align execution with broader strategy.
Skills
- Significant experience of leading retail engagement and lifecycle strategies at commercial scale, ideally within high-volume B2C, eCommerce, or B2B2C environments where you've driven measurable commercial impact through digital channels, CRM, and partner marketing.
- Strong understanding of Braze’s capabilities to effectively guide and collaborate with marketing automation specialists.
- Strong understanding of customer lifecycle marketing and how to connect campaigns to commercial outcomes.
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to interpret results and continuously optimise campaigns.
- Experience in a player/coach role having managed or mentored a small team, while still being hands-on.
- Confidence collaborating with partners/clients to co-create campaigns that drive mutual value.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, comfortable with both detail and big-picture conversations.

- Take home case study task followed by:
- Final stage interview with our Group Retail Director, APAC and Managing Director, APAC
