Your Role in our Mission

This role will coordinate and manage the legal affairs of the US business unit. This will include negotiating contracts and managing compliance matters applicable to the US business unit. Your Role in our Mission
Our mission is to make the world a better place to work and to achieve this mission we need to ensure our contracts with a variety of owners are accurate and won’t cause an issue in the long term. This role will coordinate and manage the legal affairs of the US business unit. This will include negotiating contracts and managing compliance matters applicable to the US business unit. Your approach is pragmatic and collaborative.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing general legal and compliance support across the US business, and assisting Head of Legal if required
- Reviewing and negotiating a variety of US commercial contracts; including sales, partner/referral, retail and supplier agreements, in addition to other corporate documents relevant to the US (with support from the global RGER Legal team)
- Instructing and managing outside counsel if required
- Managing litigations and IP matters (with the support from global RGER Legal team and external counsel)
- Managing corporate legal databases
- Providing assistance regarding data privacy and compliance matters with the support of internal and external subject matter experts
- Assisting the bid teams with US RFP’s, security and privacy audits and questionnaires, and other similar documentation from external partners/customers
- Implementing legal, compliance, and risk management best practices across the US business region
- Working with the RGER global legal team to identify areas of improvement and drive efficiency into the contracting process with internal and external stakeholders
Skills
- Paralegal qualification preferred but not essential.
- Minimum of 4+ years’ corporate/commercial in-house legal experience in a tech business/environment
- Technical understanding and proficiency in reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements
- Experience with the laws of Massachusetts together with an understanding of other major US state laws
- Experience of handling data privacy issues in the context of commercial transactions
- Experience managing compliance issues within an in-house tech business
- The ability to manage tight deadlines and multiple complex projects simultaneously
- Excellent written, oral, listening, and organizational skills with proven ability to interact effectively with varied internal audiences
- Ability to take on new challenges and work independently, with a “can-do” attitude, in a very fast-paced and constantly evolving business environment
