Due to growth and expansion, an opportunity has become available for a Backend Engineering Lead. In this position, you'll lead a team and participate in design reviews, recommend improvements, and work with the teams to develop, deliver, and maintain platform improvements.

Key Responsibilities
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in PHP with experience using relevant libraries and frameworks.
- Scalability and Performance Optimization: Experience developing large-scale systems to handle high volumes of user interactions.
- System Architecture: Experience in designing and architecting scalable, modular, and maintainable systems.
- Leadership and Team Management: Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team of engineers, providing technical guidance and driving the team toward project goals. Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams.
- Defining, interpreting, and developing software to written requirements and technical specifications
- Write clean, well-designed code, following coding standards and best practices
- Working with globally distributed and multi-disciplinary teams
Skills
- 8+ years experience as a Backend Engineer with a minimum of 3+ years experience in a technical leadership role
- Proven team management and leadership skills
- Experience with PHP is required
- Experience with OOP concepts and SOLID principles
- Experience with Unit and Integration testing
- Experience with design patterns
- A good understanding of building and operating cloud-based microservices
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills
The Interview Process
- Online interview with the Senior Talent Partner and an Engineering Manager. This should last no longer than 40 minutes.
- Final video interview of 90 minutes will consist of 3 stages. This includes: 60 minutes to discuss your experience and technical abilities; 20 minutes to review and discuss a coding exercise; 10 minutes to ask questions you may have
