Due to expansion, an opportunity has become available for a Director of Infrastructure to join our team.

As our Director of Infrastructure, you will be pivotal in steering the evolution and resilience of our cloud-based platform, ensuring it remains robust, scalable, and secure amidst a rapidly evolving tech landscape. You will guide a highly skilled team of infrastructure engineers toward creating and implementing a cloud infrastructure strategy that aligns with our overarching business goals and creates an atmosphere of innovation, excellence, and seamless collaboration.

Your core responsibilities will include overseeing our Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment, focusing on improving efficiency, bolstering security, and ensuring unparalleled service availability. You will champion the development of streamlined infrastructure pathways empowering our Engineering teams to enhance their focus on crafting outstanding applications by simplifying and refining their operational processes.

This senior role demands a dynamic leader who thrives in the fast-paced SaaS industry, embodying a "work hard" ethic with a relentless pursuit of urgency and purpose. You are expected to "own it," displaying exceptional judgment and navigating the team through intricate challenges with strategic foresight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a forward-looking cloud infrastructure roadmap, aligning with the company's business goals and maintaining competitive advantage
  • Architect the company's Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment, ensuring optimal performance, security, and efficiency that meets the dynamic needs of the business
  • Safeguard the company's infrastructure's health, availability, and performance, highlighting risks and preemptively addressing challenges that may impact service delivery
  • Champion and lead the implementation of practices, standards, and benchmarks for cloud infrastructure and services, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and excellence
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement leveraging innovative features, services, and tools that will elevate the company's cloud infrastructure and operational practices
  • Lead the adoption of infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions, to facilitate efficient and automated provisioning, management, and monitoring of cloud assets. Encourage a shift towards a platform-led approach to support agile and efficient operations
  • Formulate and deliver robust disaster recovery and business continuity plans, ensuring the resilience and reliability of the company's services
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software development, security, and product management, to identify infrastructure requirements and implement necessary solutions
  • Define, monitor, and drive the achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs) for the infrastructure team, highlighting areas for improvement and championing optimization efforts
  • Develop and manage budgeting and financial planning for cloud services, focusing on maximising ROI and ensuring the strategic allocation of resource
  • Mentor and cultivate the infrastructure team, offering coaching, and guidance, fostering professional growth, and inspiring future leaders within the organisation

  • Demonstrated excellence in leading high-performing infrastructure teams in a global software-as-a-service (SaaS) environment, fostering a culture of innovation, excellence, and continuous improvement
  • Ability to craft and execute ambitious technology strategies that align with both the immediate and long-term business objectives to deliver sustainable growth and competitive advantage
  • Deep experience in leading the evolution of cloud platform utilization through the development of streamlined pathways that streamline operations, enhance efficiencies and standardize practices across the organization
  • Commitment to maintaining and enhancing system performance, reliability, and regulatory compliance
  • Comprehensive understanding of DevOps principles and practices, promoting collaboration and operational efficiency across the entire application lifecycle, from development through operations
  • Advanced skills in architecting, deploying, and managing resilient cloud-based solutions enabling scalable and efficient infrastructure provisioning that empowers development teams
  • Extensive strategic experience in managing the financial aspects, teams, and resource allocation of cloud infrastructure and operations, achieving cost efficiency without compromising on service delivery
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS), with a strong understanding of Microsoft Azure and multi-cloud strategies, with the ability to navigate and optimize across diverse cloud ecosystems
  • Experience managing relationships with cloud service providers, vendors, and partners, adept at negotiating contracts and partnering to resolve challenges
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential issues and opportunities for improvement
