Inspiration, Learning, and Collaboration with Our Global People Team

Written by Klara Owens | Nov 6, 2023 9:04:01 PM

Our Global People Team got together for a two-day extravaganza that was all about sparking fresh ideas and co-creating strategies for our People Team's future success.  It was an opportunity for our entire team to come together in person for the first time to align our goals and chart the course for our future. With a diverse range of topics on the agenda, we dove into discussions that will help us on our mission to make RG a better place to work.

Today, I'm thrilled to share an inside look at what we did and how it will impact Life At RG.

RG Summit: A Gathering of HR Wisdom πŸš€

We kicked off the week by having the privilege of attending the RG Summit event. As a team of HR professionals, we were eager to learn and grow with the rest of the attendees and our expectations were exceeded. Amazing job to the entire Summit Team, in case you missed it, here's a few of the incredible results they achieved.

The event was out of this world, and its impact will continue to linger. We were able to connect with clients, prospects, new hires, and other leaders in HR. It was a great networking opportunity but, more importantly, the best place to kick off our learning extravaganza. The stories we heard reaffirmed our commitment to making the world a better place to work, and reminded us of the profound impact our work can have on Life at RG.

Celebrating our People Team Heroes πŸŽ‰

The following days were dedicated to sparking conversation, connection, and community.

We started with celebrating our People Team Heroes.  As we geared up for this incredible summit, we wanted to recognise and appreciate the outstanding contributions of our fellow team members.

We asked the team to nominate a colleague who had made their job easier, supported our business and people objectives, and celebrate the incredible values, culture, and work that make RG a better place to work.

Here's a quick video that highlights our celebration, congrats Jemella Hanson, Plamena Andreeva, Krisi Georgieva, and Lientjie Pereira. πŸ₯³

Agile Transformation: A Paradigm Shift βš–οΈ

A huge theme of our People Team Summit was Agile Transformation. Our journey into Agile HR began with a leap of faith. We heard about its successes, and it’s well entrenched in our RG engineering and product teams' way of working. We were eager to see how we could transform HR in RG.

We immersed ourselves in Agile HR with workshops from experts in the industry. We started with "Here comes AGILE" - An introduction to design thinking principles and personas, a highly interactive session facilitated by Nicki Somal, HR Scrum Master and Agile Coach. And then followed up with "The People Profession Evolved" which was hosted by Perry Timms, Founder & Chief Energy Officer of PTHR (People and Transformational HR).

These thought leaders shared their insights, experiences, and wisdom, inspiring us to think beyond the traditional HR practices and embrace a more dynamic and responsive approach.

The Birth of New Ideas πŸ’‘

The discussions, debates, and shared experiences fueled our creativity, leading to the birth of innovative ideas. We realised that Agile HR was not just a methodology; it was a mindset that could reshape how we interacted with our colleagues, clients, and prospects.

One of the most exciting aspects was our ability to start execution right then and there. We are determined to turn our ideas into tangible solutions, improving the lives of employees and enhancing our workplace environment. Having everyone from the team in one room was a great opportunity to make this happen and through this we were able to co-create our vision, mission and purpose together.

A Meeting of Minds πŸ€—

In the spirit of collaboration, we were also joined by HR colleagues from our Edenred team. They were able to share their unique perspectives and ideas. It was a meeting of minds, a testament to the power of networking and cross-pollination of ideas.

The exchange with our Edenred colleagues reinforced the notion that the HR field is ever-evolving. By learning from each other, we can adapt and grow together, creating HR solutions that are more responsive, empathetic, and effective. We look forward to continuing to work with the team to bring the best of both of our businesses together to support our greatest asset, our people.

Cheers to the future!  πŸ™Œ

Our London gathering was just the beginning of the next phase of our People Team's journey to shape the future and continue building ourselves up as HR leaders. It ignited a passion for learning and innovation that continues to drive us forward. The experience of being together, learning from the best, and collaborating with industry peers has invigorated us with a sense of purpose.

As we look ahead, we are excited about the possibilities for our team and are determined to continue to make RG a better place to work for all. We invite you to join us as we embrace an Agile approach, challenge conventions, and shape the future of Human Resources. Together, we can create a world of work that is more responsive, engaging, and fulfilling.
